Counselling Profile

The second instrument of Stop Dropout, the Counselling Profile, is a well-structured method of discussing the results of the online questionnaire with the young people concerned.

The Counselling Profile provides counsellors with a holistic approach to systematically examining the strengths and weaknesses of potential early school leavers and a guide to preventive intervention.

This counselling tool is based on a theoretical framework that integrates recognised theories from vocational counselling, group counselling and psychotherapy and builds on theories from constructivist and narrative approaches. These theories are combined with William Glasser’s theory of human needs. In the counselling profile, the dialogue between counsellor and student builds on seven clusters, which according to studies are the most important factors influencing early school leaving.
